Person's genitals burned in USA

A person in the USA posted a video online of them setting fire to their (now ex) partner's genitals.

As their partner was sleeping, the person poured flammable liquid on to their partner's underwear, then set it alight. A few seconds passed before the partner woke up in pain, and rolled off the bed.

Apparently the person whose genitals were set on fire had cheated. Maybe they had.

Cheating is a pretty low thing to do. But setting someone's genitals on fire while they slept? That's grotesque.

Genital mutilation is a revolting crime which should be punished to the full extent of the law.

    No link in the OP?

That's an even worse crime. Shame on you, OP.

That seems tame compared to the OPs post. From the video, that would have hurt, but I can't imagine any life long injuries or even scarring.

One crazy b1tch is being dumped though. .

You are aware that's not what's generally understood by the phrase 'genital mutilation', op?

At most, that was divilment. I might even go so far as to call it high jinks. But that's it. No mutilation there.

Take one dictionary and call us in the morning.

Pouring nail polish on someones groin and then lighting their bollocks on fire is a little bit more than "divilment". I hate how in western societytoday, it's rightfully labelled assault when a man attacks a woman for cheating, but when women do the same thing it's a "man got what he deserved story."

Ok. If we're going 'serious tone',..

As the man in question is American, it's more than likely he has had his genitals mutilated. Shortly after birth, and by a doctor.

    Jesus f*cking Christ.

Pour an accelerant over a woman's genitals and set fire to them, see how many people regard it as "tame" or "divilment".

I seriously don't want to live on this planet anymore, sometimes.

She didnt light his bollocks on fire. She lit a patch of boxers soaked in flammable liquid, above his groin area on fire. There was probably a stench of burnt pube in the room, but as I said, no long lasting injury.

She is still getting dumped though.

So if a man soaked a patch of a woman's underwear in flammable liquid, near her groin, and set fire to it, "getting dumped" would be an acceptable level of comeuppance in your view?

Because in my view it sure as hell wouldn't. Assault with intent to cause serious harm, as far as I'm concerned.

Actually forget about genitalia altogether here. Anyone deliberately setting fire to anyone else should be charged with assault intending to cause serious harm. Even if it's just "for the craic" - if you're stupid enough not to realise that setting fire to somebody is insanely dangerous, you shouldn't be allowed out in public.

All I said was the video was a lot more tame than what the OP's opening post suggested.

Put the sherry down, take a breath and calm down. OK?

lol. She only "lit a patch of his boxers soaked in flammable liquid" :p
Are you saying she could be 100% sure that the flames would not spread further or that he would wake up at the exact point at which he did and put them out?
Of course she couldn't have been sure of that. I'd say she hoped he had stayed asleep for a little longer.

Oh and that wasn't "above" his groin. That is the groin. Obviously.

Wait, so you've set someone on fire at some stage without realising it could potentially kill them?

    When was this?

It wasn't. It was assault, battery, and domestic violence.
Put the sherry down, take a breath and calm down. OK?

I'm stone cold sober right now I'm afraid. Even I must sadly admit that at 25, the days of consecutive sessioning without the penalty of hanging balls are long gone. Sessions must now be planned around whether a pounding head the next morning is entirely worth it or not.

And I will not "calm down". I'm sick and tired of living with and seeing double standards like this thrown around as if they don't matter - the same double standards which f*cked me up so much when I fell into an abusive relationship at age 18 and there was no support from mainstream society for me because of who I was. :(

I notice you entirely avoided answering my question, as well - if a guy soaked a patch of his girlfriend's underwear in an accelerant and set fire to it, you'd regard that as just a bit of tomfoolery? ...Really?

Now that you reminded me, I did watch an Irish lad set his own crotch on fire. Gaynorvador knows who I'm talking about I'm pretty sure. Silly Andy.

I dont give a flying f*ck that it was only a 'small patch'

You do not have the right to set someone penis on fire because they cheated on you. What if the flames had spread and how do we know that he doesnt have burns or scaring on that, not to mention infections, or if the video is even real at all.

Seems a bit stupid to post evidence of a crime being committed on the Internet (not sure if this is real btw). i hope the authorities arrest the perpetrator, as regardless of whether the guy cheated or not, they don't deserve to be set on fire. Surely the sane thing to do would be to end the relationship, as it stands the accused cheater isn't the villain anymore.

This was the probably the same thinking that led to one young lad lighting a flame on the halloween costume of another young lad. We all know how that ended.

No doubt had the mans underwear been more flammable than expected, or if the bed clothes had went up like a light then the woman would have claimed that it was just a prank, and that she hadn't wanted anything really bad to happen.

They used to teach kids not to play with fire. Wonder why that stopped?

I took this video as being fake, as I pretty much do with alot of videos nowadays.

But if it's real, it is incredibly stupid and dangerous, this place lit up when that poor lad was set on fire wearing a flammable costume during a prank, yet this isn't a big deal apparently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,792 ✭✭✭✭BattleCorp

If this video is a genuine revenge attack......(I have my doubts)....

You would have to question the IQ of somebody committing an assault, filming it, and putting it on youtube.

Not much chance of being found not guilty if charges were ever pressed.

I wonder what it would be like if it was a man lighting his cheating girlfriends genitals on fire?

    She is a complete psychopath.

If the roles were reversed and a man did that to a woman, there would be more news stories about it, there'd be outrage and people calling for their arrest. There would be none of this, "sure it's only a bit of hijinx" or devilment. Any such posts would be shot down.

But because it happened to a man ...

We live in a funny aul world, don't we?

In the morons defence, the fire was small and quickly put out causing no real harm. It could have been very serious however had he been wearing some cheap chinese boxers made out of fire crackers and nuclear waste (the Chinese are prone to making consumer items out of such stuff I hear). Then it would have been no laughing matter had he gone up like a roman candle.

I agree with you that what she did was completely unacceptable, I think she should go to jail.

However, neither of the posters you've quoted say anything to suggest they're taking this less seriously based on the gender of the perpetrator. You're the one who's brought that into the mix because you love talking about that sort of thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭PandaPoo

When the thread about the guy setting someone's Halloween costume on fire was doing the rounds, people were saying he should be charged with all sorts...including attempted murder!!
The same thing was done here, just with a different outcome.

She's a lunatic. I hope she gets arrested.

Would be taken more seriously by some people if it was a dog being lit on fire.

No matter how 'harmless' this was, or a prank or whatever, someone deliberately setting fire to someone else should be dealt with as a serious assault.

Now where in hell did all this gender stuff come from? One person set fire to another person. How can you possibly make a sexist agenda out of that? It was not even stated in the OP what the sex of either party was! It could have been male/female, female/male, male/male or female/female, who cares, it was a disgusting act.

One would hope the book is thrown at her. What a psycho bitch. Reverse the roles and the indifference and/or jokes surrounding this story would turn to be one of pure outrage and condemnation.

Because when it got referred to with words such as "tame" or "divilment", it was pointed out - correctly - that these words would be totally unacceptable if it had been a man setting fire to a woman. The act in itself was not sexist, the response to it by some was.

And also we might as well refer to it what it really is - genital mutilation.

I heard this story a while back about a little girl who got too close to a candle and wax dripped on to her arm. The fabric of what she was wearing melted to her arm and she needed skin grafts.

It's hard to tell what fabric the guy's boxers were, but if it was anything like that ...
