My Fiance is Venezuelan and we are supposed to go to a wedding in England this weekend. I am Irish.
We have been in a relationship for nearly 5 years and she has a stamp 4 visa to legally work here as a result of our relationship. She has travelled through europe previously without problems but someone just told us today that she may need a visa to go to Britain as the law has changed, in which case we won't have time to get one. We have found contradicting information online. Does she really need a visa if:
    - she lives and works in Ireland legally?
    - is in a long term relationship with an Irish Person?
    - is travelling within the EU?

    Anyone know??
    Thanks

If she has Stamp 4 she can travel with you in the EU.

Just showing the GNIB Card is enough.

Sure about that? Some discussion elsewhere suggests she would need a visa:

If I were you I'd go by ferry where there's a lot fewer checksat the other end, plus airlines (especially Ryanair) might not even let her board.

Further to this, I've seen the following that someone posted under one of those links:
    http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteco ... iew=Binary

Before an Immigration Officer refuses admission to a non-EEA national under
Regulation 11(2) because s/he does not produce an EEA family permit, the IO must
give the non-EEA national reasonable opportunity to provide by other means proof
that he/she is a family member of an EEA national with a right to accompany that
national or join him/her in the UK.
Unfortunately the .gov.uk link now brings up a 404, and Google doesn't come up with the text on any other .gov.uk page as far as I can see.

Perhaps try showing proof she's a partner of an EU national just in case you do get stopped in Holyhead or Fishguard or wherever.

In the end we chanced our arm.

She brought her Garda National ID card with her and they seemed to be satisfied with that
