Can anyone advise how to approach this. This is my jeep and theres rust which I have sanded down with some 40 sandpaper. How do I fix this? Planning to give the jeep a full paint job once I fix the body rust problems.

I have some body filler do I just apply that?

    Thanks

You'd want to do more than sand it. Needs a new wing IMO.

cutting out and welding in new metal is the only job for that, or replace the whole panel

Did it get failed at a test, if it did, they will be looking closely at it when it goes back, and expecting to find real metal under any paint or filler that's been applied to make it look reasonable. My Isuzu pickup failed DOE recently due to the inner rear wheel arches being (badly) rusted out, not structural, or any risk to anyone as there were no edges protruding, but it still got a fail, and I've had to get a major repair job done to get it through the test.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
