I didn't find an easy course but very very nice. But I only played there once.

Find it tough going, edge of fairway to tuf rough and heavy trees in quick succession and some huge greens, great visuals though

Played it last week, it's tough but a lovely course. Tight enough with trees and plenty of bunker but lovely walk if nothing else :p leave the pro v's in the bag

It's very tough. No let up there I find. Even though its a good course and close to me I don't play too often because I find its a grind. Well worth playing if its your first time though

Be sure to play off the tee that suits best... sounds like the forward tees for you - it's a long course and as already said, you have to grind it out in places. Big bunkers and plenty of water.

    Photos here, if it helps.

Played it last Sunday. Really enjoyable round and the course was in very good condition. Only complaint was the bunkers as they had a lot of stones and not enough sand so was unsure of the contact.

Green complexes are tricky and I had a few roller coaster putts. Its tight off the tee box with plenty of trees lining the fairways. Wayward drives are punished severely. It was playing very firm which caused plenty of problems with poor shots into the greens.

Overall a very nice track and will play it again.

Bug bear or mine, not knowing can cause a flyer or the ball to travel too short a distance to clear the lip, loads of courses state they are to PGA spec yet their bunkers are never as consistent as they should be.....

I think you may have got the wrong end of the stick in regard to "PGA", the term you'll often hear used is USGA and generally that refers to the greens only, in particular the construction of the greens.
The problem alot of people experience with bunkers isn't a lack of sand but the fact the sand is compacted (next time you think you are in a bunker with little or no sand, scrape the sand and you'll see there is plenty of depth), which happens after alot of traffic and rain.
Also the quality of the strike is more to do with the quaiity of the swing, in compact sand you have to present less bounce at address and have a more decending blow.

You are correct, USGA is what I had in mind and they do have bunker specs.....
It is important to realize that the sand in a bunker is not at a consistent depth throughout the entire bunker area. Sand on the sloped face normally is kept shallow to help avoid plugging or fried-egg lies. The depth gradually increases to the flat portion of the hazard. Generally, the base or floor of a greenside bunker needs 4 to 6 inches of sand, whereas a fairway bunker commonly needs 2 to 4 inches.

Yes the USGA have bunker specs and clubs for the most do as much as possible to have their bunkers in line with those specs, but the point remains that they (the clubs) don't advertise that their course's bunkers are up to USGA spec as you suggest most clubs do, they do however advertise that their greens are USGA spec.

I get what you are saying, I was referring to courses that say their bunkers are to PGA USGA spec, they exist, never mentioned greens anywhere along the line, anyhow Mt Wolseley, nice but irregular bunkers
