    Hi all,
I've had about 5 years of on again-off again driving, so a good few lessons spread out, a bit of practice in the parent's car.
I renewed my provisional a few months ago (no need for the 12 lessons)

I've recently moved up to Dublin full time so need a car and a full licence ASAP. What would be the best order to do things in- Get the licence first or a car? I won't get home to practice much, so not sure if I'd pass the test with just a few top-up lessons? Is there such thing as intensive lessons? Like a good few hours at once?

At this stage I'd almost say money is no (little) object, I just need to be driving!!!
Any advice ye could give me would be great, or even a realistic time frame I would need?
    Thanks!

I went for 13 lessons, the instructor brought me around the test route and i passed first time.

Where are you planning on taking the test, Galway or Dublin?

    Dublin I would imagine.

I'm not a ''natural'' at driving, so I don't know if 13 lessons with no outside practice would work for me?

I had a car already so could practice myself in my own time and knew where I would be taking the test as well.

I did the test in Loughrea which was definitely easier to pass the test in.

Ok, so having a car first would be an advantage?

Yes but it could be difficult getting insurance without a full license, also you wouldn't be able to drive on your own without an experienced driver with you.

I got around the insurance problem by going under my brothers policy until I passed the test.
