The cabinet/exchange that I'm connected to will not be upgraded to eFibre till end of year. This cabinet is 260 meters from house.

Just wondering with the figures below would I be able to get higher speeds in the meantime.

    DSL

    Line Status:
    Connected

    DSL Modulation Type:
    ADSL_G.dmt

    Annex Type:
    Annex A/L

    Upstream Downstream
    Current Rate (Kbps) 384 7168
    Max Rate (Kbps) 968 8572
    SNR Margin (dB) 15 13
    Line Attenuation (dB) 12 17.7

    Any input welcome.

Downsteam line attenuation suggests 1200m+ of a line, so your setup mightnt be ideal or your modem may be mis-reporting.

At that range you're talking 20Mb at least. But considering you're on G.DMT(ADSL1) your line is on an older DSLAM. Either thats because you never ordered an upgrade, or because one isnt available at that exchange. If you're rural, probably the latter.

If the 24Mb packages are available, thatll tell you.

I'm living down in Ballivor Co Meath

I put in my number and this is what appears

    Exchange Code: Unknown

DSL Enabled: Yes - 6 MB

    NGB Enabled: No

    Fibre Enabled: No

    LLU Enabled: No

Probably stuck with what I have until eFibre arrives

If your exchange looks like a cab, then its an RSU. Cant do 24Mbps. Theyll probably replace its guts entirely come end of year(or next year). You're correct in saying you're stuck.
