Best route to Argentina

    Hiya,

Hoping someone can offer a bit of advice. I'm planning a trip to Argentina early next year. Just wondering if anyone else has flown from Dublin to Buenos Aires and what they found to be the best route.

Or if there's a cool place to stopover on the way that would be worth spending a night in etc?

Or are there are European cities that offer more direct routes that would be worth starting from?

Thanks a mil in advance for any help offered :-D

Madrid would be a common stepping stone for flights to Argentina and is a great city to spend 2/3 days in. London is also an option though British Airways flights to Argentina tend to be pricey, you might find better value by making your own way to Madrid on a budget airline and then trying to get a good value return ticket from Iberia or another carrier to get you to Argentina.

Another route to look at could be via Miami, it is one of the main US hubs for flights going to South America. I suspect you'd get charged handsomely for a stop over though, going via Madrid would likely work out cheaper if you get there on your own steam

I worked in the oil industry and we had a Buenos Aires office. Our company HQ was in Houston, and quite a lot of our Aberdeen-based engineers traveled through there. IAH is a huge hub for North America-South America traffic because of its geographical location.

Travelling through the US is much longer than travelling via Europe and you have to go through they joy of US immigration and customs.

I personally wouldn't bother stopping anywhere on the way (max time in Argentina), but if you haven't been to Paris, Madrid or London then one of those might be worth visiting and you should be able to include a 1 day stop (under 24 hours) for no extra charge on your ticket.

I'd like to be able to do this, Amsterdam being the city in question.

Would like to avoid the 6am departure for AMS from DUB, and then connecting 3, 4 5, hours later to long-haul. Would prefer to take afternoon flight to AMS , spend the night  and leave the following day. Airlines being either Aer Lingus /KLM.
Have never found out how to do it, at no extra cost at time of original long-haul booking.:(

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
