I damaged in the front left hand wheel of my car and got a replacement wheel from the scrapyard. Since I put the wheel on my Steering wheel has been acting strange , basically it shakes left and right ever so slightly, anyone know whats wrong?

Are all the lugs on tight? The wheel could be buckled? It could need to be balanced. Is it the exact same size as the other front wheel/tire?

How did you damage the wheel? Perhaps a suspension component was also damaged.

Get the wheels re-balanced for a start to rule that out.

Sounds like a twisted tyre if its noticable at slow speeds.
Try putting it on the rear and see does it go out of it.

If it does you need a new tyre.

If you got the wheel from a scrap yard the wheel could be damaged when the car was crashed...

Definitely the first thing to do and only costs a few quid at any tyre fitter.

If it's wheel balance then it usually happens at certain speeds and is normal at other speeds.

As others have stated, it could be a damaged/deformed tyre that could be causing the problem. If you leave it in for a wheel balance get them to check the tyre at the same time.
