    Hi,

Trying to decide on doors, frames, skirting, arch for new build. Upstairs we are going for walnut on the hall landing and bedroom floors. Originally we had thought walnut doors & frames with painted skirting & arch but someone mentioned that we could have too much walnut going on and to go for painted door and frame also. What are peoples thoughts, very confused! BTW we also will have stairs with walnut steps, handrail and painted risers, spindles.

    Thanks for looking

    Hi,
In my opinion like Interior Designer, maybe all in walnut finish it's too much. That will be too dark although depend of the walnut finished and the natural light that you have in your house.

1 option would be: Doors and frames in light grey like ref. Manor House Gray Farrow & Ball. The skirting in walnut like the floor. A few moths ago, I made an apartment's project with this colour for doors and the result was amazing!

2 option more bold: If the floor is dark and your house has enough natural light, use glossy black door and the frames + skirting in white finish. I have a pic but I cannot put it in the post.

    I hope help you :)
