I have only recently started horse riding, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest places where I could buy inexpensive jodhpurs? The City Centre and North Dublin areas would be ideal. Thanks in advance!

Keep and eye out in Lidl and Aldi, they sell them from time to time and are good value.

You're more likely to get them cheaper online. The cotton jodphurs are fairly cheap I think they are Shires but you'll find that they wear fairly quickly. I wouldn't be without my Rugged Horse jods but they come in about €80 for the pair. Alternatively you can ride in jeggings :)

I get mine online on http://www.equestrian.com

there is also a Preloved tack for sale/wanted- Ireland facebook page that has a lot of second hand items and most sellers are based in Ireland so I suspect you will pick up a bargain there.

I haven't been yet (mr. credit card would probably go on strike!). They haven't a massive range on the Irish version of the site, but they have some nice looking stuff.

I used to order online through their uk site and use parcel motel. Their numnahs and half pads are excellent value and really really good.

seems you can order online in Ireland now too on http://www.decathlon.ie and they will deliver

Is there? Decathlon is not listed on the store list for jervis.ie

This message is on the Decathlon website re stores in Ireland:

We do not have a store in Dublin (yet).

I found a decathlon.ie website after seeing your post but their range is not as extensive as decathlon.co.uk which seems to be on a par with their continental stores and websites.

    ..

We went to a Decathlon store for the first time this year, in France, and found great value items.

I was told there was (and I thought the person had been there, but maybe not). I haven't been there so maybe it's not the case. Apologies all!

I swear by my saddle huggers in stone colour!

    http://www.theequinewarehouse.ie/ladies-saddlehugger-breeches.ir

I have the navy ones also but they tend to fade after a few washes which doesn't bother me as I just use them at home but might not suit other people.

The stone ones don't fade and are super comfy and a little bit thicker than normal jods so are perfect for the winter too!
I also have the white ones which I use for shows and they wash very well!

+1 for the lidl and aldi ones too!

White agri are very good to do business with and very fast delivery.

Holmestead are good for jods too they have a basket organised by size and they are €30 each I have two nice pairs of USG I got in there with suede seats.

I also love shires wessex jods and they are inexpensive.

with all jods, if you are small (28 and under) and short, buy kids ones instead of adults as they will fit you but are much cheaper than adults ones as no tax

I got all excited about the possibility of a Decathlon in Dublin! Came home with a new suitcase from France before bought especially to bring home all the horsey stuff - as far as I'm aware they don't deliver to ROI yet either :(

I dont think I have ever managed to buy a pair of jodhs I am truly happy with. Probably dont spend enough money on them! I think the best were caldene, but they werent perfect either.

    Sorry about that. :(

It seems to be letting me set a Dublin address as the delivery address on the decathlon.ie site, I'm not actually going through with the order as I only bought stuff from them last week, so can't confirm for definite, but it let me go past the shipping step.

Can always just use Parcel Motel!
