    Hi folks
Is there anything in particular to be wary of with an import car? Or just the same wariness as with all cars? This one is 2006 with 80000km so I'm already a little wary.

Yes. It may not have an immobiliser fitted, there is no way to verify the mileage, they tend to be driven by learners.

    Do you need an automatic?

No, don't need automatic. Just trying to pick a reliable car, decent to drive and 5 door hatchback as I have two small kids although this one won't be the main family car as I have an Octavia for that. This one is for my 600km per week commute.

Oh yes, and budget is about €5000

I wouldn't bother then, those cars have a huge market with Indian professionals who often want a small engined automatic car, those and vitzs go for big money as a result.

You should be able to pick up a jazz easily. Friend got a lovely 05 for €4700 last week.

No immoboliser and a standard radio that won't work here, I would avoid.

Thanks folks. I'm also considering the ford focus, corolla, i30 and Kia ceed. Seem to be a few with sub 100000 miles for around the €5000 mark.

Ford Focus is a lovely car. Seen a 2005 1.6litre one advertised on Done Deal for around 3grand. Much nicer than a Jap imported Jazz.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

That's strong money for a 10 year old car.

    Jazzs weren't ever cheap.

This was tiny mileage from a main dealer.
