I'm 15 points off BIS in CIT
I doubt it will drop another 10 or more.
So i've been offered my first course on level 6/7 - Business Studies CIT.

I was just wondering could i move to a level 8 BIS from the level 6/7 business studies?
Please and thanks would appreciate an answer :(

What is the code for the Level 8 and what is the code for the Level 6/7?
Are they all in the same college?

Not a terribly user friendly site is CIT.

From what I can see, despite its name, BIS is much more a computers type course, while the Business Studies you have been offered is a Business course.

There is very little overlap in the topics covered according to their outline of the courses. You would have to check with them whether it was possible to transfer across disciplines. I'm not sure it will be, but all you can do is ask.

I'm inclined to agree with spurious, LuckyDude, I'd be dubious enough about chances of transferring, but definitely ask: if you don't shake the tree ...

    BIS - click here.

Business (Common Entry) - click here.

Click on the different Tabs on each page to see more, i.e. Overview, Description, Modules, etc.

Much harder to answer, especially as the real question is "which course is better for the individual / your son?"

A first and somewhat tentative response would be that BIS is more geared to specific jobs (there are a lot of general business graduates each year), but on the other hand, Common Entry might give him more flexibility as he goes along to choose a focus or specialism which interests him.

(I would add that Business isn't my area, and all I know about these two courses is what I'm reading at the links above.)
