    Good morning all,

After a particularly cool shower this morning im looking for some help on trouble shooting my hot water temperature.

Hot water has been more tepid than hot over the last week or then 10 days.

boiler thermostat is set to 70 degrees but the water is no where near that.

I increased the boiler temp from 65 last week think that was the issue but no joy.

The shower is your standard thermostatic shower and adjusting the temperature makes no difference. Hot water out of the bathroom or kitchen is the same temperature.

Where do i start looking myself before i need to call in the pros

What is the water temperature in the bathroom sink hot tap like?
If it's hot there but cool in the shower, the regulator in the shower unit maybe faulty (sometimes limescale)

Temperature is the same everywhere unfortunately.
The pipes coming out of the bottom of the boiler are roasting when the boiler is on so I don't think it's a boiler issue

Is there a red wheel valve on the bottom of the cylinder?

either the tank stat is knackered or the T R V that controls the flow of water in the heating coil is knackered.
The pictures are not the most helpful as they don't show the heating coil or the stat.
Anyway when the heating circuit on the time clock, am assuming its working, is on, feel the flow and return on the heating coil, beyond the T R V
they should be hot, hotter on top and cooler on bottom
there should be a manual override on the T R V to keep it open so try that: that will bypass the stat as well

    T.R.V. ?? (Thermostatic Radiator Valve)

Presume you mean Zone Valve or Motorised Valve.
