    Howdy,

    I need to get a full service done on my Passat (09 B6 Passat 2.0 TDI 170).

    Requirements;
    Good reputation
    Thorough
    Good value (i.e. non-stealership-like prices)
    Knows their Passats inside out (e.g. an ex VW mechanic preferred)
    Uses quality parts (e.g. filters, plugs, oil etc)
    Location: South Dublin or North Wicklow preferred but not essential provided its in the same counties.

    My local indy could do it & is decent value-wise but they're not that thorough (I think) or knowledgeable on Passats (I know no car-specific specialist knowledge is required to carry out a full service but I'd like to have a place to use if I ever do need something VW-specific needed in the future).

    Any recommendations welcomed.

    George Dalton (Daltons.ie)comes highly recommended on here. Given me great advice over the last while on VW/Audi stuff in general. Knows his stuff and quite a few on here use him.

    He's in Portloaise though, worth it if you ask me.

    Thanks, do you know on average how much he charges for a full service? Edit; I see his example prices at http://www.daltons.ie/service-pricing-offers.php

    Somewhere closer than Portlaoise would be preferred but I'll keep him mind, thanks. Any recommendations for anywhere closer to Dublin/Wicklow?

    I wouldn't, but contact details etc are on their website I'd imagine.

    If it had to be Dublin then a guy I know out near the airport used to do fantastic work on my BMW's when I had them. He specialises in Fords but given the quality of work he did on my cars, I'd be happy to let him work on a Volkswagen. Let me know if you want contact details.

    R&M motors in Ballymount, Robbie is the owner who is ex Msl mechanic and VW, Merc & Audi specialist. He doesn't advertise because all his business is repeat. Call german auto components on 01 4264444 and they'll give you his number.
