Up until the end of July, there were 51 cx3s sold for the year. All were diesel,

As an aside, 29/51 were red.

Has this engine only been added? 120bhp from 2.0 doesn't seem that high, I'm assuming it's very low emissions?

There are two variants of the 2.0 L SkyActiv petrol, one is 150 PS (AWD) and the other 120 PS. The former is not available here.

    Mazda Red is really nice.

Love that shade of red on the 3 and 6.

I wonder how many of those 51 registered are dealer launch demos? They all seem to be red. High maintenance colour I'd imagine.

There are a good few regged in Dublin, then 1 or 2 per county outside Dublin. Was thinking the same thing earlier.

That is mazda 626 late 90s, no vvt, type power. As you say, it must have some other trick up its sleeve in economy/emissions.

    €280 tax.
Sometimes a low bhp big engined car can be quite nice to drive.

Kinda goes against the grain of tiny engines. Hats off to Mazda for making their cars lighter long before VW etc started it!

There was very good torque in the 626 engine I'm thinking of, great matching of the engine output and the gearing. Gen1 honda crv was an amazing engine too considering that didn't even have basic vtec.

I could see that mazda being a grand mommys/daddy's taxi if the gearing is right and they haven't given it some weird map for emissions purposes.

Mazda refuse to use turbos, hence the large cc, would say it would be quite nice to drive.
Never going back to diesel, have spent money wisely on getting the dpf out, now have a changed car and 15% better economy. Anyway, I don't do the mileage.

I'm not sure how robust these high compression petrols are though. I read last year that Toyota are going to put the skyactiv petrol engine in yariss (not in Europe)

I would be worried with irish petrol alright. You could fire anything into those old mazda 626, honda crv engines but I'd rather be using Super for the high compression stuff.
