DJ booking policy

    Hi,

booked a dj for our upcoming wedding by securing them with a small deposit. Signed a contract which states that the remainder of the payment is required on the day. Now, however, the dj says that they require the money in advance of the wedding as their policy has changed. Is this the norm?
I know I don't have to pay them as I have a written contract but I don't want to get into a dispute and jeopardise the event.
    Any advice is welcome.
