BBC Red Button Problem On SKY

    Hi folks.

I have what I'm told is a very unusual problem with my SKY box, and in particular with some BBC services (red button video - text works fine - as well as BBC Three and Four).

I've SKY+ HD, which was installed in February, but in recent weeks this problem emerged. I notice it in particular with BBC Red Button, where the sports video streams don't load. An error message appears instead, to say the service is currently unavailable with an error code C501-U72-L1970. BBC Three and Four don't work either, and neither does at least one of the BBC Children's channels. There, I get a message saying no satellite signal is being received. Every other channel appears to be working fine, including Red Button services.

I searched for a solution online, with no luck. I reset, restored and updated the box but no luck. Today, a SKY engineer arrived and replaced the box and the LNB but again, no luck. I haven't been able to try my box in another house, but the fault has been on two boxes now so it's most likely to be location specific.

The engineer today said he'd never seen the problem before and he believes that something could be transmitting on the same signal (all the channels, I think, are in the area of 10.800 GHz). I have a baby monitor, but turning that off hasn't helped. I therefore think that if this is the issue, then whatever the cause is isn't in my home. I think. I also have no idea if this is indeed the fault, or what could the problem could be.

    Any and all help appreciated.

Do you have a cordless phone nearby? Ours used to interfere with a few channels if we left the base too close to the box.

Not unless the neighbours do. No cordless phone in the house. The nearest house (building to building) is apx 5m away, maybe slightly more.

Hope you all will forgive the bump for this thread but I'm really stumped for ideas on how to rectify the issues and would really appreciate any advice or suggestions on what I could do

Maybe you should post this on the dedicated Sky forum ? Their agents may have an answer for you?

Didn't realise that was there. Thanks
