Hello, my daughter has reached the age where she sees our steep spiral stair case as a challenge. I can't find a stair gate anywhere. I found a company online but I think they're out of business (Spireco). Any suggestions on where I can get one or get one made?

I am not a builder but looking at your stairs I wonder about the distance between the steps. Might a little head be able to squeeze in there. The building regs say
"In addition, unless the stairs are unlikely to be used by children under five years of age, guarding should be so
constructed that a 100 mm diameter sphere cannot pass through any openings in the guarding and that it
    will not be readily climbable".

Not just the spindles that you need to worry about.

In case you need it here is a link to the doc

Thanks jordata, thankfully there's a thinner bar across the gap to prevent that!

Would you be able to take the bottom out of that playpen and wrap it around the bottom of the staircase? Not as neat as a simple gate at the bottom stair but could do the trick.

Bodges I've seen done before involve getting two bits of timber and zip-tying them to the bars at either side of the bottom steps. This gives you a flat surface onto which you can attach a normal stair gate. You will probably need to screw it to the timber though to make it properly secure.
Wrap a small bit of rubber around the steel pole where you attach each zip tie (an old bicycle tube is perfect), this will prevent the zip tie for being able to slip around the pole.

Though that stairs look pretty narrow - maybe too narrow for a standard gate?

Or a fireguard secured on? Again wouldn't look great but might do the job?
