Hi I am looking to invest in a bluetooth car kit. Anyone any thoughts on what product I should buy. I am currently looking at parrot products. I could buy Parrot Asteroid Mini or MKi9200 for similar price. Any any experience on either of these products? Not looking to spend anything more than 200euro.

I would recommend the IO Play 2.

Very impressed with it, great for music aswell.

Anyone know where to pick up one of these or even the IO Talk? Halfords are out of stock.

I had a Rav4, and the head unit in that was alright to take out, so I replaced it with a head unit in Halfords.

Not this one, but it was extremely similar (it seems this is the updated version of the one I had)

When I sold it I kept the head unit. Then I had a Peugeot 407, but the 407s dash doesnt really lend itself to adding an aftermarket unit, so I got an IO Play 2. I found the sound quality was awful through it (vs sound from the radio/cd player). I complained to Halfords (they fitted it) and they swapped it for an Mki9200. This was equally awful (both were great for phone, just the music i mean, was awful).

Then I sold that and bought an 01 Focus. Changed the head unit out to the one I mentioned above (that I kept when I sold the Rav).

The sound from the head unit was amazing compared to the sound via the bluetooth add on kits. I found them dire.

What the difference is I dont know (they're all utilizing the same speakers so i figured they'd all sound the same anyway, but there was a definite drop in audio quality for music with the Mki9200 and IO play 2 in the 407). So much so, that I'd avoid them in future in favour of a dedicated head unit if the option was there.

Reason I'm posting is to suggest a complete head unit instead of just an add on kit. Not sure what the car/dash is, but if you'd get away with it, I'd advise it (based solely on my own experience of course).

I think that issues you had were more to do with the installers really as music on IO Play is excellent I find. Wouldn't let halfords do it myself no chance.

Just googled that and found nothing? I have a friend who can fit it so just looking for the unit. Halfords had the talk for 75 and the play for 100 but are out of stock and prices elsewhere seem mad compared to what halfords were.

Well as the auto electrician I ended up using for the Focus put it to me: "It either works or it doesn't. If you're getting audio, then that's the quality you'll get regardless of who fits it, or how they fit it".

    I've no issue using Halfords.
