I'll keep this brief, I was groomsman for a wedding, the happy couple supplied all atire including a tie pin. The couple are emigrating soon and I think I may get Bon Voyage engraved on the tie pin and have it framed along with a photo of a scene from their home life and give it to them. Is it bad to return a gift (the tie pin) or ungrateful or bad luck or......

    Cheers guys

I think I'd be a little disappointed if I went to the effort of picking out a gift for someone as a memento of the day, and they ended up returning it to me. I can see your intentions are good, but I don't think I'd appreciate it as a gift myself, to be honest. The framed photo does sound like a nice idea on its own.

Its a great thought, but the pin is the wrong thing. Thats yours so its a bit odd to frame it for them. If you want to frame an object for them, a memento of home is better. Pebbles or shells from a beach, a sprig of heather, a house key. Use your imagination.

The frame is very thoughtful, but keep the pin, I think they'd be put out to get it back.

Lovely idea but that is a gift for you.

Why not get your corsage pressed and framed with a photo instead?

Do you have something small from the wedding you could incorporate into a framed gift? Like a table place name setting?

Or how about engraving a euro coin for each instead?
