neighbour of mine had an inspection - got docked for excess rushes on land the was claiming

he was also told that all hedges (field and roadside where applicable) will need to be cut every year.

has anyone heard anything about this being a requirement??

i understand the roadside for safety reasons but in the field every year seems excessive

According to Dept website they should just be maintained so as to prevent significant incursion of briars etc. into adjacent grazeable area. Unless the hedge has been neglected for many years and the field not grazed, this shouldn't be an issue.
