Probably not the best forum to ask on but Yes it is.

That's kind of why they issue boil water notices.

Depends. If a dog craps in the water, boiling it won't really do much.

Also, make sure you remove the goldfish first.

Tins are easier again. Just last them into the recycling bin afterwards. Bottles need to go into the bottle bin, or fecked over into Jim and Rosies back garden from my back wall.

I'd wait for the water to cool down first though.

I was in Mayo last weekend and I was shouted at for drinking water out of the kitchen tap. I got a bit upset and had a bit of a cry, I don't like people raising their voice at me. :(:(

E coli is bacteria not poison. Hence boiling the water kills the bacteria.

Nope no form of poison. Heavy metals or alike in food or water would be poison.

No, infection differs from poisoning. E coli bacteria cause infection.

Infectious bacteria formerly known as poison?

It's not a form of Poison, It can be called food poisoning for example but it's an infection you can pass it on. You cannot pass on poison generally unless one is Radioactive for example. Heavy metals on the food or in it like lead is a poison.

It's not a poison no matter how much one repeats it.

Well hang on now. You said you *can* call it food poisoning, caused by bacteria. So is it or is it not poison because I've never heard of a dose of the trots as a result of food infection.

And how would you get food poisoning if it's not a poison of some sort?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,592 ✭✭✭✭kneemos

It poisons the body using bacteria.

I hear google will tell you the difference. The bacteria causes an infection via a pathogen.

    Just the man.

What about making boil in the bag rice in Roscommon using tapwater.

Should you follow the instructions or add 5 minutes to be sure?

Maybe, but I'd prefer to read the opinion of the real expert.

Just boil the rice until it burns to the bottom of the pot. Works for me all the time. Then throw in a dollop of jam and you can finish it off for dessert.

Crap. I can't really ask him now, can I?

Bacteria. Rotten food that's sealed just tastes nasty. Like that fish in the can that stinks.
