Hi, my girlfriend is Chinese and we're planning on going to Italy on September 10th. She will need to get a Visa so I'm wondering how long does it usually take to get one.?

You need to call to make an appointment. Wait time can be up to two months. Then the actual process once you've applied can take another couple of weeks.

    Good luck.

Hi, this is just based on my experience last December. I rang the Italian embassy and they said all the dates until the next month (January) were booked by appointment. But i tried my luck and went there personally. I told the guard if I could just wait in case someone doesn't show up on his/her appointment. And they let me sneaked in. Waited for about an hour or two but was worth it considering I need my schengen visa by mid January.

Then I followed up for collection and was told my visa was ready (after 2 working days).

Just be a bit nice on the guard. :)
