CV Advice - Contractor/Freelance

Does anyone have a bit of advice on my CV. It is getting a bit messy and I was wondering what approaches other people take. I've been working freelance for the last two years but am now starting to apply for 9 to 5s.

During the past 24 months, I worked for the same company as a contractor for about 20 months (2 roles - 1 for 16 months and then a more senior role for 4 months). During this time I've also done bits for 3 other companies.

I kind of feel I should be making the most out of the main 20 month job on my CV but I'd also like to show I was doing other freelance stuff. I was thinking of putting my main job as "a job" with that company and put freelance as a separate "job" mentioning the other 3 companies.

    Any tips?

yeah, I had the same problem. I put the the longer job as a job for that company, and the beneath I have listed Freelance as a new job and listed I was working for : "various companies around the world including" and then listed the rest i thought were important..

You really need to tailor your CV to the job you are applying for - never send your CV on spec. Look at the job description and adjust your CV accordingly to emphasise what is relevant. A complicated CV will be overlooked.
