stuart turner water pump

I have a stuart turner m330n water pump in my apartment. It turns on and off every 4 minutes or so for 5 seconds each time, even though no taps or toilet being used.
Had a plumber from a company who specialises in fixing these pumps out to me twice to solve issue. He replaced the pressure vessel, the circuit board and the capacitor and even checked toilet cistern for leaks but found none.
Issue still not fixed as pump keeps coming on and off every 4 minutes especially in the evening, which is frustratingly unexplainable and unfixable.
Has anyone got any ideas for a permanent solution? there are no leaks. Do I need a new pump. Help

I had similar problem the issue for us was a broken tap which dripped slightly ,you need to check your taps see if they are leaking.

Thanks for your suggestion. No tap is leaking and no leak in toilet cistern either. The pump comes on and off occasionally during the day but especially in the evening time , which I know sounds strange. The temp setting on the main tank is 60 degrees. Maybe need to check pressure of pump... should be .9 right? A month ago, the plumber checked pressure. It was low but he fixed it... could it be I need to check pressure again?
Have no idea what makes pump come on and off, no plumber seems to be able to fix this... not sure if a new pump will help either.

The main causes for a Stuart Turner 330N pump to repetitively activate are either a drip from a Tap or in the Toilet Cistern or a Leak on a Pipe somewhere.
If all of these a ruled out, usually by good valves on the outlet side of the pump, then the issue is with the pump.
If it is the pump, the most common cause would be worn non-return valves, leaking mechanical seals or a pressure vessel issue.
The 330N is a very easily repaired pump, as long as you know what to look for, and rarely needs to be replaced.

The pump comes on when its been asked for water, a very small leak can cause this or the seal in the expansion vessel (pressure head) of the pump is leaking. For us it was a process of elimation to fix the problem. If you are in Dublin i can send you the name of the company thank fixed it for us.

Thanks again. I live in Dublin 18, and had a plumber from domestic pumps.ie call out twice. He replaced everything, the non return valves, pcb, pressure switch, pressure vessel and capacitor... maybe a seal is broken? ???
Could you send me the name of the company you used please. Thanks again for your help.

The only sure fire way of determining if it's the pump or something else, is to have good quality isolation valves fitted on the two outlet pipes from the pump and shut them off.
With the valves shut, if the problem persists, it's the pump, if the pump stops cycling, then it's a problem within your plumbing system.

    Hi guys,
Just a follow up to my water pump problem.
So a plumber from domesticpumps.ie came over to the apartment and fitted a new pump and flexie hoses. One old flexie hose had a damaged, cracked seal in it... suggesting this was the problem all along, as none of the toilets were leaking.
So far so good. Everything working fine now, and pump not coming on and off evert 5 mins... fingers crossed.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
Amazing how a damaged seal with a tiny tear/ crack probably caused all this hassle.

    That was my thought really.

Most likely the pressure vessel was slowly leaking air. Did anyone previously change it or just top up.

There was never any water dripping from the pump .
I think you're right about the pressure vessel slowly leaking air, although it was checked and replaced a month ago but the problem never went. Personally, I think it was faulty/ worn seals in the pump or dirt, grit in the seals of the non return valves. Anyway, the new reconditioned pump seems to have solved everything and is working perfectly and silently, and never comes on randomly.
