Where is your dishwasher?

Is your dishwasher to the right or the left of your sink? Does it matter if you are right- or left-handed? Recently, we have been looking at a number of homes and almost all of them have had the dishwasher on the left, although my dishwasher has been to the right of the sink in every house we've lived in. Just curious.

Right. It had been plumbed there by the builders for the previous owners, so we replaced it in the same spot when redoing the kitchen to save on reconfiguration expenses. In my previous place, it was to the left.

Both are apartments, so I'm guessing the water layout of the building had a lot to do with it rather than any kind of deliberate kitchen design or aesthetics.
