Question about courses requiring a portfolio.

Recently I applied for Visual Communication in DIT and got 300 in my portfolio which, although still allows me to be considered for a place, isn't a great score.

I recently saw that some people have actually already received offers before the first round of offers come around on Monday.

I was wondering did many people receive these offers? And do many people usually receive offers in the first set of CAO offers or do most places go before that?

Any help would be appreciated! :)
