I have been with upc for 12 years with no issues. I moved house in February and brought my upc with me. I'm moving again this month but I'm cancelling upc all together. They say I have to pay 200 euro because I'm within contract. When I move I brought the equipment and retained the same level of service. Anyone else have similar experience? Cheers

Yup, we had UPC for years and then we moved house to a place that wasn't hooked up for UPC (although the house directly opposite was, go figure). We would have been quite happy to keep the UPC in the new place but because we moved to a place where they could not provide us a service, we were considered to be breaking the contract and they wanted to charge us €200. We had seven or eight months left on the contract so it was actually cheaper to just continue paying the bills for the remaining months, even though we weren't getting any service from them, and cancel it as soon as the contract was up.
I got on to the National Consumer Agency about them and everything. They told me they get dozens of calls a week about UPC and there's no way around their rules.
Not in a million years would I ever give that crowd business again!

Moving premises starts a new contract, as does upgrading/changing package. Free setup in new gaff is paid for by the new contract.

Its no scam, its in the T&Cs of your contract. If you were savvy you'd have checked before moving the service the first time, now you're in contract and they're perfectly allowed to bill you.
