    Hi Folks,

I need to get some topping done on the land and am wondering if its best to purchase a topper or get someone to do it for me.

Would any of the new toppers work on a MF 35 or am I pushing my luck?

Im in the market for a tractor upgrade but don't have a huge amount of work for it so am reluctant to trade in the MF 35 as it has served me well in the past.

    Thanks

    Sirus!

A small semi offset topper will run no bother on a 35. A neighbour of mine runs one on his. I think it's around 6' single rotar.

I's agree, then its just about adjusting the forward speed - keeping revs high and let her do the work..

I topped a headland yesterday after the baler left. It wasn't mowed cos it was full of weeds, anyway it was heavy stuff heavier than I've had to too before! Will this slow grass growth much?

The tractor will have no problems with a 6 foot semi offset topper.
But how much topping do you need to do. personally id pay a friendly neighbor to do it

Maybe. But for basic farm jobs it's better to be able to do it when it suits rater than when it's convenient for someone else.

Get yourself a good secondhand disc mower and get topping skids with it if possible.
It cuts clean, uses less fuel and you can now your own hay or silage with it.
