Can someone verify that buggies can be used in a comp, or under GUI ruling you need a doctors cert to use 1. Any help would be great as their seems to be some different rules in different clubs around this country. Cheers for any input

I always thought you needed a medical cert to use a buggy in competition but apparently not so. Played in the Junior Scratch Cup in Delgany earlier this year and one of my playing partners had a buggy. He did have a doctor's cert but when pre-booking the buggy the club told him that a medical cert wasn't required and as a result his mate rode in the buggy also.
You should need a medical cert to use a buggy as it could be deemed an advantage on a partially hilly course such as Macreddin or over a 36 hole scratch cup.

thats what i thought.. thought a cert was needed but as im hearing from my club you can use a buggy. It just seems a bit unfair

yep a mate needed a buggy for a weekly stableford recently, I was gonna walk it but the pro told me there was no issue so in I jumped.

No doubt there is probably an advantage there somewhere for some but i certainly played like a donkey that day:pac:
