False heat signs?

So today, one of our heifers started bulling, it had been 38 days since we had her A.I'ed. At that stage I thought she would be in calf. A neighbour suggested that it could be false heat signs since it started after 38 days and not 42. Would this be common? BTW it's her first time being bulled

I think something like 9% of cows exhibit signs of heat while being incalf, where that figure came from I don't know. However when its 38 days I would say she hasn't held as 21 days would be the average, from notes on cows here heats can be anything from 18 to 24 days apart. Id bull her if you don't mind her calving in may, u could get her scanned to confirm either way but I'd doubt she has held

They can come bulling anytime between 15 to 27 days from last heat.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to get her scanned in the next few days and see what the story is. I'll keep ye posted if anything exciting happens

I've a vacsetomised bull with dairy cows there was a late calver repeating today but the bull also was marking and trying to mount other cows that were ai'd months ago. At least I hope it's only because he's bored rather than having a few repeating after that length of time :(

Had a cow mounted this morning in the field. First one bred on 24 of april one and only serve.
Not hot or anything. Reckon it was just a bit if hormones

Hopefully, I had a heifer a few years ago that came bulling every 10 days when she was springing to calve. I had a heifer this year that spent the day she calved on heat, she was slow enough to come bulling when I wanted her bred though
