what LBS dublin has Schwalbe marathon plus/supreme?

Hi,
Looking to picking up a pair of marathon plus/supreme tomorrow.

700 x 23c or 700 x 25

h.fords can order them at 48 eur a piece. A tad too profitable for them on my behalf I think..

Has anyone seen them out there at a more reasonable price?

Bk.worx had none, just marathons. A few other LBS did not have.

AFAIK Marathon Supreme and Plus are different tyres, with the Supreme being more expensive, lighter, but slightly less puncture resistance. Supremes are ~€29 on Bike24 plus shipping of €10. I've 32m supremes on the hybrid, but haven't seen them in less than 28mm.

At that price I am guess it was standard marathons? not marathon plus?

For people put off by the price bear in mind they last longer.

What mileage can be achieved by the various tires?
It is difficult to answer this question, as mileage is influenced greatly by tire pressure, load, road surface, temperature and the rider. For example, when used in hot weather with a heavy load and on rough asphalt, a tire wears much faster.

As a general guide, you can expect a tire mileage of 2000 to 5000 km from Schwalbe standard tires.

The tires of the Marathon family usually last between 6000 and 12000 km. With the light Marathon Racer and Marathon Supreme, the performance is a little lower (approx. 5000 to 9000 km). The Marathon Plus is outstanding with its extremely high mileage of approx. 8000 to 15000 km.

No useful mileage data is possible for MTB tires because the influence of riding style is too dominant.

Our racing bike tires Durano and Ultremo last from 3000 to 7000 km.

thanks all for the hints. I will follow up on those. Thanks smacl for pointing to me to check the differences between plus and supreme.

I have had plus for years and finally it's disintegrated, but still holding air amazing tyre.

I used to commute on regular tyres on roads to d4 from d8 and never got punctures.. But on dedicated off street cycle lanes I did get lots of punctures. Since the switch to plus the punctures stop.

I feel there is more broken glass on the cycle lanes due to a.social behaviour and the council do not have lane sweeping program, whereas on the roads any glass will get milled to dust by trucks or swept up by council. Council should have cycle lane sweeping program...

I could not get marthon plus for my MTB I got other schwable which are supposedly puntcure protection "level 5", the marathons are "level 6".

I got a puncture within a week on the new ones, a sharp pin like object got through the tyre with ease. 3 years on the marathon plus and not one puncture and I am completely careless about where I cycle, and stick to glass filled cycle lanes. I also got punctures on gatorskins. The marathon plus are in a different league.

I picked up the pair in the for sale forum.. Fitted and rolling with one of them.

On closer inspection for the next tyre to replace its actually a gatorskin hardshell/hardcase? the print is well worn but it has been on may years on dublin cycle lanes all puncture free. It will be replaced in next few months by my new m+ but now thinking well I could have gone with a gatorskin brand too.

Either way I just dont want to be fumbling and fuming in the rain trying to fix. Extra little weight is worth carrying for the protection.
