Business debit card

    Have any of you had any problems with the new business debit card issued instead of your old classic visa debit card? I have had it declined as a means of payment for motor fuel because the merchant would be charged 3.18 per cent of the transaction value as a fee as opposed to less than 50 cent with the old card I had.

    I have had same problem here retailer took it in the end as I had €90 of diesel onboard, I am with BOI

    I am with AIB, but as whitetail said BOI are the same, when I asked they said it was the service provider to the merchant who was charging. One company who give me a prompt payment discount said if i paid by business debit card my discount would be reduced by 3per cent as they couldn't carry the cost of the transaction. My bill with them is generally 1 to 2 grand each month so we are talking 30 to 60 euro per month lost because of the card type change

    Very annoyed with bank because on issue they gave me big lecture on how useful it would be
    Was lodging cheques a few days ago and got the same lecture again tried explaining the people I deal with wouldn't accept because of the charge and they told me they never heard of that problem before it must be the banks the other side were using

    Really annoyed me their attitude

    I want a new bank that has a human with a brain working for them
