Renewable Energy New building reg changes

    Hi all with the change in the building regulations for one off houses comming 1st September i was wondering if the need for installing a renewable energy source will still be applicable

    Yes 100% still applicable. Don't mix up the Building Control act/regulations with the technical building regulations Part A to Part M.

    I said it before and I'll say it again, a lot of people blamed the BCAR introduction on increased building costs, not realising the the technical regulations have changed over the years and just meeting the minimum requirements has gone up so much.

    People will still be surprised at building costs even after the relaxation in September in my opinion.
