Hope to have my car sold on Saturday and will be looking to pick up a BMW 520d SE or M Sport. Looking at an 11/12 and around 25k. I'm aware of the timing chain issues but is there anything else I should be looking out for?
Finally, anyone come across some good examples out there? Have my eye on one or two but may have missed a few... Thanks!

You will be hard pressed to find a decent 2012 F10 M Sport for 25k. There is about 2k difference in price between a SE and M Sport. Manual SE with no factory extras are usually the cheapest.

Seen a very well spec 520d Msport for for 23k the other day. It was 2010 model with sports auto, pro nav, reverse camera etc

Just to give you an idea of pricing.

I wouldn't buy unless it was msport, also see if you can get pro nav system

2010 cars would more than likely all be UK cars, don't think there were many sold here that were M in 2010.

    I sold a 2012 m-sport in March 2014 for €36,000. They're still getting that money 17 months on.

You might get a high miler 2012 for your budget privately but in good condition and spec, that's another question.

Only issue is the mentioned chain, didn't have an ounce of trouble with mine though.

I've have my 2011 F10 nearly 12 months and it's been trouble free. A cheap F10 could break your heart and wallet, you will pay for a good one.
