Better quote for respray

dented my neighbors car while parking yesterday. Fessed up to him, didnt think it was wise or decent not to.

he went today and got a quote which is way more than I can afford right now.

It's a 2010 polo the dent isnt big, size of a hand print. its on the rear drivers side door but will need to be resprayed so the quote is for €350

Is this price within reason? Should I get a quote from another body shop? if so can someone else recommend one? The neighbor has agreed to let me get another quote so if I can get somewhere decent cheaper id be pleased.

If not then I might need to go for insurance. Is this going to put up my premium a lot in future?

I have about same size dent in mine and I was quoted around 300 so I think it's reasonable enough, pay it and move on .

You did right thing telling neighbour , well done you

That sounds very reasonable tbh. You are lucky it's not substantially more.

Sounds like a reasonable quote to me. Don't bother with insurance as you'll most likely have a 200-300 quid excess on your policy so you'll pay the most of it and gave higher premium next year because of a claim.

Depends on the car but a decent job from a reputable repair shop would be around €3k, maybe more.

You'd get a very good, paint job done for about €2k these days. That's not being cheap about it either.

At €3k I'd be expecting a full body strip down...
