Tax credits

My partner and I were cohabiting with our toddler ... we've now separated. Just wondering if one/both of us are entitled to additional tax credits as we're now living apart? Custody won't be officially decided until December, but 50/50 joint custody will be the most likely outcome.

Unfortunately everything about our tax and social welfare system works against 50/50 arrangements. Only one of you can become the "Primary carer" and thus claim a €1650 single parent tax credit . Will your ex be working ?
