    Hi folks

Just trying to do a bit of planning. I have a group of 6th year Honours. Weak enough bunch. Only about a third of them are within reach of a C at present.

I did King Lear with them last year. Have an Audio Version (firstpass I think) which is quite good. We focused on Character/Plot .
Im wondering this year if I should play the entire Audio again? It could take 2 weeks.
Im obviously going to focus on Themes this year. The problem I see with the audio is that Im sure many daydream and its time consuming.

    Any Ideas?

Perhaps just replay the key moments to do with particular themes/ characters? It's all time permitting.

With a weak group, spending months on Shakespeare will make no real difference to their overall grade, unless you think they're capable of getting 60/60.Recap the plot and make sure they know their essay plans to approach past questions. Time is much more productively spent on paper one.

I never suggested spending months revising it? Where did you get that from?

The OP has already covered it and is suggesting spending two weeks on an audio version. I didn't mean to quote you.

I'm in the same boat. Very weak group. Am using Lear in the comparative and doing Gatsby as single text. They were a LOT happier when I broke that news. Maybe consider it.
My comparative is Lear, Juno and Foster. If any of them drop to pass then at least Foster/Gatsby will cover them.
