Bathroom Cabinet on tiled wall

    Hi,
I'm putting a bathroom cabinet on a wall which is tiles over plasterboard.

The cabinet needs the screw/bolt to come about an inch out from the wall as the back is slightly indented.

I was going to use an 8mm molly fixing and I think this needs to go flush against the plasterboard, so I'd need to drill a 12mm hole in the tile then 8mm through the plasterboard. Is this right ?

Will there be any issue with the head of the screw being 35mm from the plasterboard (10mm tile plus 25mm for the cabinet to sit on) ?

Do I just push the molly fixing into the plasterboard and screw as per normal wall plug ?

    Thanks !
    F.

Just go with the fixings you suggest while ensuring the screws used are approx 45-50mm in length.
Drill correct diameter hole through tile & plasterboard and insert wall plugs until they are flush with tile surface.
Get a small strip / block of wood and cut to the depth of the cabinet recess.
You can then use this as a filler piece between the back of the cabinet and the tile surface.
This will ensure that the wall plug does not pull out of the wall as you tighten the screw.
Hope I'm explaining this in a way you can understand.

Thanks. Had plastic spacers for the back, did the rest as you said. She's up now, hopefully stays up !
