Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I need a bit of help finding out how degree titles are written on the parchment (or whatever you call it). The GF's mom wants to get something engraved with her degree title for her graduation. The thing is neither of us know what her exact degree title. I asked the GF but she wasn't sure either. She did pure psychology, not via arts or science entry. I think her degree title will be something like 'BA Hons. Psychology' but I'm not sure if that's the correct formatting, can anyone help? Thanks.

Her degree title is simply "BA" (or "Bachelor of Arts", if you want to take up more space in the engraving).

The course she follows to get the degree is the BA Psychology course.

Her degree will (presumably) be an honours degree.

Once she has graduated she can be formally described as "Forename Surname BA". There's nothing to stop her, if she wants to, putting "(Hons)" or "Psych" after that, but it's not part of the conventional form. Any letter the university sends to her (and she'll get quite a few, encouraging her to donate money) will be addressed simply "Forename Surname BA".

Just checked the Psychology degree we have in the house (which, while framed, is still in its bag) and it's just BA. Or Baccalaureatus Artibus to be exact.

Though to clarify, the degree parchment doesn't actually give you your written title, i.e. Forename Surname BA. The type of degree awarded is just written near the top. Your specific subjects aren't mentioned on it anywhere either.
