Sangakkara's last Test starting shortly......one of my favourite cricketers.....hope he signs off with a substantial contribution

Interesting series for both captains for a number of reasons

India should really win this from here. Many things to be annoyed about with the Dhoni era, but his exclusion of Ashwin for a darter in Jadeja was bloody stupid. I like the 5 bowlers option, Harby and Mishra can bat lets not forget.

Question marks over Aaron though, was bowling trash, needs to understand its more than speed to make it in test cricket. Heck if that was ll you need Sami of Pakistan would be an all time great.:P

Sri Lanka don't look that great sadly, going to be insanely reliant on Matthews for a while, Chandimal is showing signs of stepping up, but the rest are either inconsistent or not good enough.

Thirimanne really has to offer more than he has, they have persisted with him for years but his test numbers are absolute ****e.

If not for the BCCI's continuing brainless decision not to use the DRS this match should have been over by lunch today....

Instead India face a tricky chase tomoro against Herath and co...... Should be an interesting finish tomoro

They should be ok, enough batting depth and plenty of hit me balls from Kashaul. Pakistan cruised 377 the other month here.

Herath is economical but playable these days, Pakistan milked him last month and India had no problem first innings.

Its pretty much Sachin who hated drs isn't it and thus it never came in?

I watch a lot of India tests and they have had some horror decisions go against them which cost them hugely. Rahane got an absolute lol decision when India lost a test in NZ, was a huge wicket that.

Its not perfect but India need to accept it.

Thrashed by a country mile in the end

If this result doesn't convince them of the need to accept DRS I don't know what else will convince the morons who run Indian cricket

Hopefully Kohli will grow a brain and campaign for its use unlike his predecessor who sucked up to Srini and co every chance he got

Horrible from India. Dhawan trying to do a Misbah this morning was where the rot started, he is the type of player you want to be a little more positive and put pressure on the bowlers. The rest seemed to have never seen a spinner before. The days of Dravid, Sehwag and Sachin murdering spinners are all over sadly.

Rohit, Aaron and Harby will have no reason to moan if they are dropped, contribute close to nothing the three of them.

    Don't forgot Laxman!

    Don't forgot Laxman!

    Laxman was a superb player

That was one of his finest knocks, an unbeaten century chasing 257.

Dhawan, batted the whole match with a fractured hand that he suffered in SL first innings. He deserves nothing but praise IMO

The series has been terrific so far and second day of final test was really vital in the series decider. Making comeback in the Indian sid, Cheteshwar Pujara scored excellent 100 to life the team up when men in blue were down.
    It was fantastic effort.

Pujara carries his bat 145 no in the morning and gets bowled out for a second ball duck in the second innings in the evening:pac:

India have let the tail wag as usual from 47-6 and have allowed SL back into the match.... Interesting finish in prospect tomoro

212/5 after being 100/5......174 to get in 47 overs

India struggling with the lower order..... Yet again!!!!

SL on the verge of something special here I reckon if Mathews bats thro'

Too much to do for SL in the end.

Excellent series between 2 teams in the process of rebuilding.. Didn't expect India to come back from one down away from home....

Hopefully next time India play a Test series DRS will be in use!!

    Mathews is such a beast.

Good from India, dominated most of the series, bar the final day of the first when they fell apart. Very good series though.

Looking forward to the series v South Africa now.

Yeah.....that should be a good series...... SA have not been beaten away from home in the last decade if I am not mistaken and India have generally been poor against SA..... It'll also be the first time that play a 4 Test series against each other

That was such a fantastic game of cricket and test cricket at its best. If Angelo Matthews didn't return pavilion, India could have lost the series..

I wonder are South Africa a little fragile now though? Kallis and Smith were amazing players and nearly impossible to replace.

Philander is a player who really should struggle in India, while Steyn has been a little hit and miss recently. They haven't played much test cricket in the last 12 months either.

Also, to be honest shocked he wasn't called sooner:pac:
