Hi Guys, i've got a bog standard Genesis Equilibrium 20 2015 model. Love the bike but I think its time for an upgrade of some sort. I was thinking wheels but I was thinking something kind of retro looking to suit the look of the bike. Any other recommendations?

Hand built is probably your best option for that aesthetic. I was in a similar boat recently, and apart from finding pretty much what I wanted on Adverts, I was going to buy hubs and rims, and get it put together in Dublin.

Second alternative upgrade is pedals - Going for cleats will upgrade your confidence in pedalling no end.

Third alternative is a nice saddle (And matching bar tape). Cambium or a Swift would fit nicely with the Equilibrium...

i'm not sure it's worth you doing anything with it tbh, should just give it to me instead and be done with it :D

I've already got some Look Keo 2 cleats on and I'm loving what they're doing for my cycling. Hmm, hand built wheels, not something I've thought of but definitely worth considering. Any ideas on where to start?
I've dropped hints to herself about getting a swift for xmas.. Hopefully she gets them!

Bee cycles has been recommended time and time again on here for wheelbuilding - http://www.beecycles.net/

It's probably worth doing some research online into what parts are best for the riding you want to do, you can always get the rim, hub and spokes online and bring them in.

a rock solid groupset so no point in looking at that-
ive had 2 of those frames and one thing that works well on them is to up grade the cockpit and seatpost to something like ritchey classics in silver- looks great and is good quality

as old bean said next stop is wheels...
id plump for some really really good hubs- http://www.adverts.ie/bike-wheels/campagnolo-record-hubs-in-silver/8359325- the owner of these is on here- class hubs
and a set of nice hoops.."h plus" or maybe open pro mavics..
    good rubber..gp4000's
and a good saddle.. maybe the brooks cambium...

    thats it really

its a fanatstic frameset for anything bar racing..
    winter..
    touring (light)
    audax
    and just cruising..

Plenty of food for thought there.. It will probably October November before I get around to doing any upgrading. Those hubs look sweet. Will keep 'em in mind.
