They look like comfortable beasts! Even older ones! Would like to know if anyone had any experience with them?

They're big, but very low slung, so not as comfortable as you might think.

Share quite a few parts with the Lexus range also.

They don't have the upper class image though...:(

Well I drove it home after putting a battery in. Ex taxi, loads of miles but pretty clean. Still though, it was mad bland.

I got 4 for it after a valet and new battery though

Seems to be a lot of 04s for sale, with pretty hefty price tags, still they look the buisness!

Ive had 2, an 02 one and an 04 one.
Both the 2.4 VVTi Auto versions.

Both were taxi's. They were so good for taxi use, so comfortable and effortless.
very light at the front, wheel spin without even trying and light going into bends, but again, great for passengers etc

they can suffer from blocked mesh at the top of the head, i used to throw a can of oil cleaner thingy in a day before servicing to loosen up anything up there.

I went from them to an 05 D4D Avendid T-Spirit, if only the Avensis had the Camry's Auto box or the Camry had the
    D4D engine!

Quite heavy on petrol too from what i can remember.

Aren't the auto gearboxes very similar on the Camry and Avensis?

I guess you mean in the diesel.

I always thought the Hyundai Sonata was a good Camry replacement. I know it's not a Toyota but the diesel auto is ideal for taxiing and it's in a similar style to the Camry.

At the time, there was no auto in the D4D Avensis.
