If you pull the stereo, there may be a black wire with an eyelet connector. It may be loose or disconnected. It needs to be screwed to a piece of bare metal, usually the stereo harness.

That's the first thing I'd check

Likely to be a wire that's not supposed to be grounded, ie antenna out, speaker wire etc?
