Hi there. I was wondering are there any specific chemicals for desiccation of potatoes, I have clinic ace here, yet there is no mention of potatoes on it, and i wasnt sure if you can use it and eat the potatoes afterwards?

    SO..

    1) What chemicals can you use
    2) What is the recommended application rate, and does it differ from normal burning off of grass etc
    3) how long would you have to wait until you dig them and the glyphosate is out of them

My problem is a touch a blight and i need to get them dug before this takes hold and i wont be able to dig them as quickly as needed.

out of interest, they are maris piper potatoes.

Don't use glyphosate, it will damage the tuber

    If you have blight
1st cut stalks, I use the strimmer, neighbours use the hedge cutter on the tractor

2nd after a few days spray with Dragoon gold, contact spray not systematic

3rd wait 2 weeks before you dig the potatoes for keeping.

this is ment to stop the blight getting on the tubers, you can dig away for eating now.

    Have you many sown ??
