*Dreaming* What remakes would you love to happen in 2016?

What Nintendo game from all the way back to the NES era would you love to be remade for the WiiU or 3DS (not the NX guys) over the next year, seeing as not many games are, I guess, planned for 2016.

I would love to see Doshin the Giant and its Japanese sequel get a full on remake for the 3DS since it was technically a N64 and DD game and would be very possible.
Would be perfect, as the Zelda remakes looked great on the 3DS. It might also relaunch the franchise for the west since it was very obscure on the GameCube.

Maybe also Eternal Darkness, but all the 'tricks in the game wouldn't really hold up now so maybe more of a re-imagining of it for the WiiU.

What would you love them to remake? Go wild guys!

I suppose I might give Mario Sunshine another chance if it was re-released with its myriad annoyances repaired. Or how about expanded HD remakes of the earliest Zeldas? I don't think they've ever had their graphics changed, a lá Mario All-Stars. I could possibly see a download remake of Link to the Past on the Link Between Worlds engine. That'd be nifty.

Super Mario Sunshine vote here as well.

Dark Souls 3 for the NX, FTW!
Sorry, got all excited for a moment...

I'd give my left nut to have Link to the Past rendered as Ocarina of Time and vice versa....

I'm not all too gone on the idea of remakes (I'd always rather see something new, even if it's inspired by something old (ala A Link Between Worlds)) but I'd totally be on board for a Super Mario Sunshine HD remake in the same vein as Wind Waker. It's a game that would look tremendous with an upgrade, it's not available on a current gen system, and it has some rough edges that would improve the game if ironed out.

Retro Studios have advertised for a graphic designer lately so hopefully they are cooking up something for the NX.

I'd love Nintendo to keep delving into more genres, Splatoon was an outrageous success and hopefully they keep pushing themselves in that sense. A new FPS on the NX would be great, completely and utterly bored of the last few years of them and maybe a new franchise or an existing one (Metroid) would add something to an incredibly bland current genre. I'd also love a new Castlevania on a Nintendo system, I always relate the two from being younger but there's been hardly anything for quite a while, bar the 3DS.

Totally. I would love a remake of sunshine on the WiiU and a sequel made for either the WiiU or 3ds.

A remake of the first two zeldas would be epic too. Never had the balls to play through them but with a remake I would buy in a heart beat.

Something like Zombies Ate My Neighbours with the usual Nintendo flavour would have my queuing overnight.

To be annoyingly pedantic, the original Zelda was re-done for the Snes. However, it was only available in Japan....and even then, only available as a timed satellite broadcast download for the Satellaview expansion for the Snes (TLDR it was very, very obscure)

That'd be very cool, would love to see that myself.

I've never understood the hate for mario sunshine, I always thought it was excellent myself.

I'm not sure how well it would play on the wii u seeing as the game pad doesn't have sensitive analogue shoulder buttons like the GameCube did for squirting the water. Maybe it wouldn't matter, I don't know.

100% of the time I'd go for new ideas/games over remakes, so give me sunshine 2 please Nintendo!

Faxanadu for 3DS, Ducktales for 3DS, Earthbound for 3DS, Sonic 1,2,3, Sonic & Knuckles you guessed it for 3DS.

secret of mana 2 for the 3ds and the Fire Emblems that weren't released to the west remade for the WiiU.

Sonic 1 3D is already on 3DS. Looks good but doesn't add much.

I want a 3D Sonic collection on cart, not from the eshop.

Hard to add to perfection :) The 3D conversion was a fantastic effort by M2, which you can say the same for a lot of their work. The game still looks gorgeous today, & for me adding anything more to it would just end up taking from it. +1 for wanting these Sega conversions on cart!

Pokemon Red/Blue/Gold/Silver given the home console overhaul. It'll never happen in my lifetime.

    Body Harvest would be nice.

What would be nice there is a sharper image and a frame rate that might push into double figures!

I think the time has come for a Rock'n'Roll Racing remake.

Or just give us a proper 2D sequel to Super Mario World. I refuse to believe that Yoshi's lsland is a sequel.

Beetle Adventure Racing.....or HD Turrican....I could go on...

Act Raiser! I loved the music and the little angel going around fixing the land. Loved it.

And in a dream world, Banjo Kazooie. My favourite game on the N64

For that you'll have to invest in an Xbox One and a copy of Rare Replay.
That compilation is, in fact, the sole reason I am buying the console in the coming weeks.
I already have a PS4 but, while that machine has had some worthwhile content, the Xbox has had none.
The Rare Replay release has loads, from my early days of gaming with Jetpac and Knightlore, to Banjo himself.

I would love to see something with the fluidity and immediacy of WWE No Mercy / Wrestlemania 2000, even if the actual WWE license had to fall by the wayside. Maybe it's time to take a second look at Yoshi's Beach Volley Smackdown?

Jet Force Gemini gets my vote.
Although Mystical Ninja starring Goemon would be cool too.

Also part of that Rare Replay collection.
