Windows 10 black screen with mouse

I installed the windows 10 update and had a problem with my graphics display.
I installed a new driver and now I only have a black screen with the mouse on it.

I can't see anything else so I restarted the system and now I just get the black screen with mouse and can't even log in.

I want to remove the driver and go back but I can't get into safe mode to do this.

Everywhere I checked it's saying go to settings but I can't as the screen is black and I can't even login.

Can anyone tell me how to get it back to basic settings so I can delete the driver and start again.
I need to get into safe mode but the old win 7 way is not working.

If you have access to another computer, you can create a bootable Windows 10 install disk or USB drive, and boot off that, and select the Repair option on the Install Now screen.

You can select Advanced/Troubleshoot/Startup Repair or Advanced/Safe Mode.

Note that I have not done this myself, so I don't know the full consequences of doing this, I'm just telling you how to get there.

Is it a desktop with dedicated GPU?

Desktop with nvidia Gforce 7600GT card in it.
Got it up and running but can't get a driver for the graphics card. Tried the detect on the nvidia site but it keeps crashing (the nvidia page)

Everytime since win 10 that I install new GPU drivers, it goes black, with mouse and bottom taskbar. I found that putting the cable into the motherboard to use the integrated graphics, the shutting down and plugging back into GPU solved my problem.

Regarding drivers, did you try windows update? Win 10 seems to be great at finding them.

I tried that with a different card. Had on joy.
I'll try with the 7600GT tomorrow, not holding out much hope.

Finally had enough and restored windows 7.
    They can keep 10.

Once 7 went back everything is working fine now.
