    Hi,
I hope it's ok to ask about tents only on this forum, not specifically related to wild camping. We are doing a four day trip and will be using camping sites I'd say.

We are thinking of getting three of these? http://www.sportsdirect.com/gelert-quickpitch-pop-up-2-persons-tent-783110?colcode=78311096 Would it be a complete waste especially as we have never gone camping before and don't know if we will like it or not....

For the record though, I do like the idea of wild camping in the future!

    Thanks a million :)

Depends on where the camp site is, if it is in good weather on low lands, then it will be fine probably. If it is cold and wet, then good luck to you. 1500mm hydrostatic head is very low for a tent in Ireland. The 2 reviews on Amazon say "Broken after one use, cannot get it back into the bag!" and the other says the same happened to them. Buy cheap, pay twice:).

OP, pop-up tents can be problematic. Maybe okay to pop up. When you want to pack them away, not necessarily okay at all.

Also, that's a cheap tent and I think that you'd be better off spending more money on a better one. See here.

The other thing to consider is that it's single walled. Without an inner tent and with no ventilation you'll suffer from a huge amount of condensation. So rain or shine you'll probably wake up wet.
