Accepted a course in LYIT in September and the fees (judging from the website) are about €3800. I know which form I have to fill out in order to claim a tax refund and I'm working full time for a number of years now (think it's done against tax paid), but I'm just wondering when do I put in the claim form and when does it generally be refunded? And is it 20% of total fees or contribution?

You can submit it as soon as your fees are paid and you get a receipt. It gets refunded fairly soon through your wages.

They discard a certain amount before the relief is refunded.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
