Are the first SUSI payments in September this year?

    I know it's normally in October, but this is on their website:

    "The first payment dates for maintenance grants are:
    Mid September for renewal students.
    Late September for new grant applicants.".


    I thought I'd have to get a loan, but if it's in September I'd be grand.

    My young lad is going into his 4th year. The previous 3 years he has gotten the payments in October i.e a month behind

    I wouldnt be hopeful of September. SUSI can be quite slow

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    SUSI also confirmed a 1st payment date in September on their fb page

    I would hold off on spending it just yet. This will be my 3rd year getting a grant and first payment has always been October.

    Has always been paid a month in arrears and conditional on attendance. I know of a couple of instances where a person got no payment because of poor attendance.

    I asked SUSI help desk on Twitter and they said the payment dates for 2015/2016 have not been released yet. Of course it may be the case that the first payment is in September but the exact date hasn't been released.

    Ya. I've my grant renewed and everything good to go, so I should get it on the first payment day.

    SUSI have updated their payment details, see here.

    The first payment dates for maintenance grants for the 2015/16 academic year are:

    25th September 2015 for Higher Education students.
    23rd October 2015 for PLC students (double payment).
